Whitley Bay, Mon Amour

After a brutal awakening (alarm calls are really alarming!) Debbie and I make our way to the lobby and our taxi to be whisked through the deserted, still-dark streets of Exeter.  By the time we got on board our flight Debra was only just starting to wake up. As an early riser I was firing on all the smug-lined cylinders I could muster...

Goodbye South West...

...hello North East...

Exeter, Mon Amour

All good things come to an end. Saying goodbye to all our chums Debbie and I get the ferry across to Teignmouth...

Goodbye Manor House. See you next year!

Then the train to Exeter. After wandering around for a couple of hours we went to our hotel and dropped our bags...

After getting washed and generally spruced up we went out for a bite to eat and the excellent Exeter Playhouse to see...

A moving film which reminds that for all the darkness which exists in humanity, there are rays of sunshine.

Early to bed. Alarm call booked for 5.00 a.m.

The Fine Art Of Doing Nothing In Shaldon

After a morning spent in the Coffee Rush working hard on a piece I eventually joined to the team for another wonderful day busy doing nothing...

A Walk Around Shaldon

One of the great things about coming down to Shaldon each year is that we do very little. Just relaxing, catching up, drinking tea, and watching the world go by...

Just before I came away, I received a last minute commission and today I spent a few hours enjoying the free wi-fi in the Coffee Rush. Great cuppa, great food, and great connectivity!

Gone Fishing

This morning we said goodbye to Paignton and hello to Dude and Jim who were joining us for the fun in Shaldon...

Ignoring the fleshpots of Torbay...

We pressed straight on into Shaldon...

...and then straight onto the ferry across to Teignmouth...

...and from there, out to sea to catch tonight's supper...

Last time we tried this I caught nothing. Today I had a catch of three decent sized fish...

After a couple of hours and a very decent haul, we headed back to shore...

where the ace filleting team, bedecked in bijou bin bags, swing into action...

The Manor House crew began massing...

and making merry!

Some of the catch of the day...

A lovely evening with lots of laughter and a beautiful dimming of the day...

Linda's pavlova are quite literally the icing on the cake...

as these satisfied customers can tell you...
