An hour later I announced my presence to the Twitterverse...
It's 7.30 a.m. & the Yellow Room is open. On the menu right now is a pot of Earl Grey, Radio 4 & preparing bills & invoices.
Exactly one hour later there was this update...
Invoice mode completed. Creative listening mode about to be engaged. destination: musical excitement circa 1973!
That was a reference for writing up the show notes to this fabbo concert...
now available at DGMLive. The plan today was to write a review and then, mid-afternoon get underway with my novel. Novel? What novel ? Well, I have several unfinished novels sitting on various hard-drives in states of being that veer from being unfinished all the way back to barely started.
For reasons which I don’t fully understand on Saturday I signed up to the NaNoWriMo event. A few Twitterpals had done the same and so, as proof of how easily led I am, I signed up. What I like about the whole NaNoWriMo ethos is that during one month you hit the word count and end up with 50,000 words.
What has always stumped me in the past was my inability to plough on without editing as I go. NaNoWriMo states you should forget the editing until after you’ve completed the month and have what is in effect your first draft.
So having signed up, yesterday wrote 591 words which is well short of the daily target of 1600 words but I figured I’d catch up today. Well, that was the plan until my sister rang and asked if I fancied a trip up to Warkworth.
Needless to say I was in the car like a flash.
A walk along the Coquet at Warkworth...
Time to head back into Warkworth and home...

sid what a great walk this is!!! beautiful in fact. i can see how you might leave crimson '73 behind, knowing that it'll be there on the wheel of steel when you return. where a day like this - well you've gotta enjoy them when they're offered. thanks for sharing this. steven
Hey Sid,
Awesome photo's :D
thanks for the pictorial trip.....
but what - no snow?
We have at least 8 inches on the ground - with a low of minus 16 celsius and high of minus 6 celsius already... winter is certainly here :(
I suppose that is why it is called "the great white north"....
Good news about your writing impetus - hope that we might be able to read an excerpt or two along the way - pity please?
Hey there Steven, it would've been too easy to ignore the offer and stay at home and work. I'm glad I didn't!
Hello Wendy - very, very long time no speak! Hope all is well with you and yours.
There wasn't any snow as you say but it was one of those days when you can really feel the change in the air. I must have shot off over a hundred pics of the devastating blueness of the sky - there was something about the light that was so beautiful yesterday.
As for the writing - after discharging all my paid work duties today (Tuesday) I'm hoping to do some work on the NaNoWriMo project. As to whether any of it appears on the blog depends upon my cringe level when I read it back. I'll keep you posted and thank you kindly for the encouragement.
Dear Sid,
Ah simple pleasures;Warkworth is one of my favourite places.Your photos just shine out.So glad that you have emerged into the sunshine (we'll forget the rain of today.)Hectoria
Many thanks for your kind words re the pics Hectoria. Warkworth is a magical place for because of the time spent there when I was a small child. We scattered my mother's ashes along a bank not far out of Warkworth and visited there yesterday as well. We just caught the best of the day for which I'm especially glad!
The moon...lovely
Hey Mr.CBQ - the moon was wonderful that afternoon - it had a reddish glow from the sunset which doesn't really come over in the pic.
Indeed, wonderful walk, beautiful photos,I injoyed it and thank you!
All the best to you and yours,
Aleksandra
