Another excellent podcast. Ilona Harhonen Ensemble is interesting - reminds me of the Bulgarian Women's Choir. Do you know "Voices of Life" - with a bit of Eddie Jobson and Bill Bruford? http://www.amazon.com/Voices-Life-Bulgarian-Womens-Choir/dp/B00004YL4I
Hey there Russell,
in my review of the Harhonen album I mention the Bulgarian Women's Choir. Fantastic sounds - this album from Harhonen is different of course, but just as captivating.
hey sid, a really good podcast! i liked a lot of the music and especially the jackie mcauley piece which in the instrumental breaks made me go wayyyyy back to an album by neil ardley entitled "a symphony of amaranths". fripp and theo - man oh man - one of the most beautiful albums i've heard in a long time.

Hi there Steven,
not heard that Neil Ardley - something else for me to be checking out!
hey sid - it's a beauty that i heard when i was in my teens. the local library purchased a copy and i signed it out week-after-week. what's amazing is that a library in canada knew to purchase this album as it was a fairly limited release arts council project. there are some great personnel on there including norma winstone, henry lowther, harry beckett, dick hart, barbara thompson, dick heckstall-smith, jon hiseman, and some guy you might have heard of called ivor cutler(!!) (just to name a few!). go here for more: http://www.neilardley.com/rec.html

Sid, I am so lovin' your podcasts! Please, please do more! Super stuff!
Hello Lizzy,
many thanks for dropping by and thank you for your kind words re the podcast. I keep meaning to do another one but pressure of time prevents me from doing so at the moment. That said, I appreciate the encouragement.
Hi Sid - I came across your blogspot recently having been directed at the end of one of your excellent sleevenotes (National Health I think). The last podcast was ace and I bought Great Lake Swimmers after listening. Any chance of playing a track from my band Astarkan's CD in a future podcast? Any kind of review would be good too.
Keep up the good work,
Jerry Wigens
hello there Jerry,
many thanks for your kind words regarding the podcast, and I hope you enjoyed the Great Lake Swimmers album. They're really one of my favourites.
Also many thanks for your kind words re the sleeve notes.
Sadly,I've just not had any time to do any more podcasts but I'm hoping to start up afresh in the new year.
