In An English Country Garden

Chez Kimber,

Kent

A lovely day. Outside the birds are singing, frogs can be heard adding to the bass end of the peace.

A telephone conversation with Debbie brings me up to speed with things back at the ranch, and proves the old cliché of “it’s nice to be away but nicer to get back home”, remains truer than ever.

The boys are in good spirits, Alys is recover well from her surgery and Debbie is as bright and as buoyant as ever. Plans are afoot for us to wind up in Shaldon in Devon for a few days with Neil and Halina which is always exciting news.

Kimber and I spend a lovely morning chatting in the garden underneath a tree full of greengages...

and a pear tree heavy with fruit

where we are joined by a cat...

who is being followed by the peacocks intent on having some kind of dialogue..

The cat doesn't like the attention it get from the peacocks and joins us up on the table...

The peacocks split resources, with one going up front...

whilst the other watches from a distance...

Resulting in one unhappy cat who beats a hasty retreat back indoors.

In the meantime, another Kimber cat has its eye on something else altogether...
